Responsible use of Medicines Course

We hear more and more about antibiotic resistance in the news these days and responsible medicine use is a 'hot topic' in the farming world.

Shepton Vets have long been an advocate of Responsible Medicine use and have provided training on this topic for over 10 years.

This one day course is designed to provide information to allow you to treat only the necessary animals with the most suitable antibiotic, in order to improve treatment success and reduce antibiotic use on farm.

The course will provide the practical tuition and notes required to start saving money on medicines!

Our Responsible use of Medicines Course content includes:

  •  When to treat and when NOT to treat with antibiotics
  • How do you know what’s wrong with your cow?
  • The most effective treatments for specific diseases in cows and calves
  • Resistance to antibiotics and other problems you may encounter
  • How best to treat mastitis
  • How to reduce those repeat cases of mastitis
  • How much, how often and how long?
  • Pain relief ~ what is it? Does it work? Should I use it?
  • Safe storage of medicines
  •  How to infuse Orbeseal and dry cow therapy
  • And lots more practical tips for you and your herd
