Whilst at college, Michael travelled to Kenya and Trinidad to undertake human and veterinary related projects. To this end he became a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS). Michael joined Shepton Vets in 2004.
Further specialisation and interest was gained through receiving the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Cattle Health and Production (CertCHP) in 2001 and more recently the award of a Masters Degree, the Diploma of Bovine Reproduction (DBR), from the University of Liverpool in 2010.

At home he plays tennis, enjoys walking, bird watching and listening to classical music. It is with regret that due to work commitments Michael gave up train spotting years ago!
