Josh brings enthusiasm and expertise to Shepton Veterinary Group. His focus on small animal medicine, with a particular interest in cardiology, makes him a key part of the team.

Joshs honed his skills at The Blue School and The Blue School 6th Form before continuing his education at Cambridge University. His veterinary learning continues in the form of a post-graduate certificate in Cardiology.

Joshs practical experience is equally impressive. He began his veterinary career at Friars Moor Veterinary Clinic before joining Shepton Veterinary Group in 2017. He broadened his experiences s at Bath Veterinary Referrals. Since returning to Shepton Veterinary Group in 2022, he has actively shadowed cardiologists at local referral centers, solidifying his expertise in the area of cardiology.

Joshs primary responsibilities encompass a wide range of small animal medicine cases and work-ups. However, his passion lies in cardiology, where he takes on a significant number of cases and utilises his skills in echocardiography (heart scans) to provide advanced diagnostics.

Curious to learn more about Josh and his passion for cardiology?

We asked him a few questions below!

What do I enjoy most about working at Shepton Vets?

Great team environment, independent and a very progressive practice

What accomplishments am I most proud of in your career?

The development of my echocardiography abilities, allowing me to offer comprehensive heart scans to clients who would otherwise have to pay much more elsewhere.

What do I think sets Shepton and Wells Vets apart from competitors?

The level of capabilities within the practice as a whole

Do I have animals at home?

A dog Nala, crossbreed – stocky lurcher type build. A cat, Beanie -CP rescue, a tiny 2.8kg fully grown despite a DNA test saying she is 12% Norwegian forest.

If I could trade jobs with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?

Hannah our assistant manager because she just drinks tea all day!

What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?

Keeping fit and active, going to the gym and playing golf. I like craft beer and brewing coffee with 3 different filter techniques for my morning brew. My best round in a pub quiz would be a sports round.

I also love reading a bit of Agatha christie.
