Alex is an experienced vet having been in practice for over 20 years. Alex has worked in some interesting places, a Greyhound track, West Midlands Safari Park and for SPANA a charity organisation in Morocco. Alex joined Shepton Vets in 2012.
Alex’s special interests lie in how to manage infectious diseases on farm, Johnes, BVD, TB and Neospora control are areas Alex is very knowledgeable in. Alex enjoys infectious disease reviews and promotes good conversations on farm to open up and focus on new ways of managing or preventing diseases.
Alex is passionate about improving animal welfare and bringing new developments in treatment and management of both clinical and subclinical disease to the farm. Alex believes that improving productivity in our patients only serves to improve their quality of lives lived on farm.
Alex’s day to day work includes carrying out routine fertility visits for dairy clients. She carries out much of the practice’s beef work and outside of work lives on an organic beef suckler farm.
