Why choose this course?

A combination of practical and theory for candidates to learn how best to manage their calving cows. Giving them the confidence to know when to intervene, how to manipulate calves and when to call for help.

We know that the period around calving is a high risk time for Cows. We discuss how best to look after them, identify causes of a cow becoming “down”

We teach how to treat, care and hopefully prevent.

Key learning objectives:

  • Learn when and how to intervene with the calving co
  • Learn how to assist a calving cow being able to identify common malpresentation and how to manage them
  • Learn how to identify common risk factors/causes of down cows
  • Learn how to treat down cows
  • Learn how to prevent cows going down
  • Understand when to call a vet

Yes. Please contact the farm office if you have any special dietary requirements.

Cost/Fees:

£150 + VAT per person A £50/per person deposit will be payable upon booking. The balance will be due 2 days before the course start date.

You will be contacted following your reservation to complete your booking form and payment.

Cancellation policies:

Cancellations up to 10 working days before the course will result in a full refund. Please contact the office if you need to cancel. Further details are outlined in the booking form. Shepton Vets reserve the right to cancel a course if the minimum delegates number is not reached.
