What do I enjoy most about working at Shepton Vets?
The team. Everyone is so friendly and supportive of each other.
The variety of the role. Every day is different.
The fact we are still an independent business and the services we provide. Especially the night nurses.
What am I passionate about, in the veterinary industry?
I really enjoy wound management, nurse clinics and spending time with our hospitalised patients
What are my primary responsibilities?
Managing the nursing team. Making sure everyone is OK and happy in their work.
Whilst working at Shepton Vets I am proud of the fact that I set up the night nursing team. I did research into working hours, contacting local practices that have night staff, writing the job advert, helped to promote it, interview all the candidates, select candidates, settling them in and continue to offer support as best as I can.
Currently working with a client who’s dog is on a weight loss plan and has so far lost a whopping 6kg.
What sets Shepton and Wells Vets apart from competitors?
We are independent, do our own OOH, night nursing team and we are very competitive when it comes to pricing
Advice or words of wisdom for someone just starting in the field? Persevere. If you want something enough in life, then don’t ever give up. It is worth the hard work
Outside of work?
Walking. I love being outside and spend a lot of time walking the dog. I also love going off in our VW Campervan on the weekends and exploring new places. Because I grew up by the sea, I love going to the beach and being by water.
