Too many to mention – often connecting with owners after putting to sleep an animal and discussing their lives, memories and all the treatments they’ve had since I’ve come to know them.
What do I think sets Shepton and Wells Vets apart from competitors?
Independent, flexible, common-sense approach. Local people, members of the community, always keen to help. Going above and beyond to help – providing a personal and friendly OOH service and doing as much as we can ourselves to achieve the best outcome.
Can I share any advice or words of wisdom for someone just starting in my field?
Cancel your social plans. Make the most of any sleep. Try not to worry (but you will). You’re going to do a great job, in a fantastic career.
It would be good to trade jobs with everyone to spend some time in their shoes and appreciate more about how the practice ticks, but probably on reception – I enjoy answering the phone, greeting clients in the waiting room, and being clients’ first port of call.
What is something most people don’t know about me?
Most people know most things about me. But maybe my love of birdwatching? And that I am half Seychellois.
