What do I enjoy most about working at Shepton Vets?

The way our vets and nurses connect with owners and their animals on a personal level and seeing the owner’s reactions, when their animals start to respond to treatments

What am I passionate about, in your work, for Shepton vets,  and in the veterinary industry?

I am passionate about feline nursing and educating owners about how to care for and enrich their animals’ lives

What are my primary responsibilities?

Answering emergency phone calls OOH

Caring for hospitalised patients

Working with the vet with emergency and critical care cases OOH

What sets Shepton and Wells Vets apart from competitors?

We have a highly trained team of individuals who specialise devoted to providing a high standard of care for large and small animal patients.  Our vets and nurses tend to get emotionally invested with owners and their animals, checking up on them even on time off, and you don’t see that with corporate businesses

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I like the smell of tom cat wee!

What is my favourite book/movie/podcast, and why?

Movie –  Pay it Forward,  I like the concept of this movie as it is a reminder you don`t always know what people are going through, so be kind.

Book – Tilly, the Ugliest cat in the Shelter by Celia Haddon

I love this book because it highlights just how powerful the bond can be between animals and their owners.  I can also relate to the fact that animals I have rescued, really rescued me

What is my favourite quote and why does it resonate with me?

“Everyone in this house needs to calm down and eat some fruit or something”.

Mel Gibson says this line in the movie – Signs.

This resonates with me because he says it in such a calm, dead pan manner in the midst of chaos,  that  it seems a very reasonable request.
