Why acupuncture?

Acupuncture stimulates the body’s natural healing processes, releasing endorphins and promoting relaxation. It can help provide relief from chronic pain conditions like arthritis and contributes to overall improved well-being.

How does it work?

Acupuncture is offered by our experienced veterinary surgeon, Sarah Wheadon, who has used the technique as part of chronic pain control for over 15 years. During an acupuncture session, Sarah inserts ultra-thin needles into specific acupoints on your pet’s body. These needles remain in position for about 10-20 minutes. There may be some transient discomfort during needle placement, but most pets tolerate the treatment very well. In fact, pets usually seem to find the experience relaxing, often enjoying some treats or even falling  asleep during the process.
