“It is a pleasure to work with Shepton Vets in support of our Export business. The knowledgeable and friendly team are continually so supportive of the frequent exports from our site. Shepton Vets complete over 800 Export Health Certificates (EHC’s) every year and are therefore experienced in the export process and challenges that can arise. Our goal is to build long-term sustainable working relationships with our clients through provision of support and good service. We export products to the EU and other several other countries including Philippines, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, India and Thailand.

We have a team of one Certification Support Officer (CSO) and six Official Veterinarians (OV) who can certify Export Health Certificates required for exporting Products of Animal Origin (POAO) such as milk powder, cheese, egg products,  processed food and meat products from Great Britain to Northern Ireland, the EU and Non-EU Countries.

What you need to do

To complete the necessary inspections, and then certify EHC’s we require the following steps to be completed in advance:

  • Email over a draft ‘specimen’ certificate before submitting the application, this allows any mistakes to be corrected before the certificate is applied for.
  • Attach certificate of analysis (CoA) e.g. pasteurisation charts and bacteriology reports, along with a schedule detailing a description of the product (type, amount, sizing etc.) to the EHC application on the portal.
  • Arrange a collection date and time with your haulier when the OV can be present to complete the EHC – we will require trailer/container and seal numbers to be present at time of inspection.

Once all the above have been completed please contact our CSO and export Co-ordinator Sam Clevely to arrange a visit – bookings can be made by calling 01749 341 761 or emailing exports@sheptonvets.com
