Louisa Saunders
Small animal vet
Louisa graduated from the University of Bristol in 2018 and joined Shepton vets as a new graduate where she spent three years working within the small animal team before deciding to move on to do a some more learning. After three years working in referral hospitals in the South West, focussing on neurology and a period of time working in veterinary physiotherapy she returned to Shepton vets in October 2024 with new skills and enthusiasm. Louisa cares deeply about developing a trusting relationship with clients and managing each case from beginning to end. Shepton & Wells Vets allow this with their independent 24-7 care meaning that clients can always speak to someone they know, who has access to their pet’s medical history and they don’t have to travel too far to reach help when they need it day or night.
Outside of work Louisa is a competitive runner, training with the Wells City Harriers and competing across the South West on the road, track and cross country courses but sometimes it’s just a plod around the lanes with her rescue dog Nala. When not participating in sports, she enjoys watching them instead, especially athletics and rugby. Louisa has a WSET certificate in wine which she is hoping to advance one day.
