Paddy has 30 years experience working with dairy farmers. He first came He first came to the practice in 1989 as a student, learning from the vets at the time – both clinical skills and attitude – work hard and respect for clients.

A core focus of Paddy’s during his many years at Shepton has been health and management advice for farmers across many aspects of dairy production medicine. Paddy is passionate about delivering high standards of veterinary care to our clients and their animals.

Paddy was one of the first vets in the UK to roll and toggle cows to correct LDAs. Due to BSE farming was in the doldrums and the roll and toggle correction improved cows’ health and production, saved farmers money and for vets meant we were fixing cows that would otherwise have been slaughtered.

Paddy has been an independent vet advising Tesco on Dairy Standards for 10 years, he has worked with pharmaceutical companies on product trials, for regulatory and marketing purposes, and for product development.  Paddy received the Tuckey Prize in 2002 and 2005, from BCVA for practice based research.

Paddy has played a key role in education at an undergraduate and post graduate level, working with three veterinary schools and delivering fertility training for new graduates for many years. Paddy has been a part of BCVA Council for six years having responsibility for post-graduate education.

Paddy received an industry award in 2007 for services to the profession.
