Cider country is calling………. come and join our fun and professional team.
We are looking to expand our 11 vet, INDEPENDENT, enthusiastic and progressive small animal team here at Shepton & Wells Vets. We offer job satisfaction and a great work-life balance and are proud to cover our own out of hours in a sensible rota (1 in 7 weekends), providing our community with continuity of care. Community is a core value for us and we care about our work family too – social events are encouraged!
We’re an independent business that take great pride in what we do. Our team has grown hugely over the past 10 years and so has our offering to clients. And we don’t want it to stop now!
Two of our vet team are going on maternity leave and so we are looking for an experienced clinician, full or part time, who wants to help us develop. Being pro-active is a must and the role would suit someone who has, or wants to be supported through, a post-graduate certificate. Equally, as in independent practice the right individual would have the opportunity to progress within the business with management and share ownership should they be driven in that way.
In 2018 we expanded by building our branch practice in Wells that works alongside our long standing purpose-built practice in Shepton Mallet. We’re not scared to invest in our practice or our team, with great facilities including internal lab, endoscopy and laparoscopy and all the other usual facilities. We won’t be scared to invest in you too if you feel this is the position for you!
We believe that work is most fulfilling when we’re progressing and we actively encourage input from the whole team in the decisions that help move us forward.
Salary commensurate with experience, plus additional benefits. For the right driven individual share ownership would also be a prospect and very much welcomed.
Interested? Then email email@example.com or call 07919 026585 to discuss the position.
Shepton and Wells Vets are a busy, first opinion, Small Animal practice based in Shepton Mallet and Wells, Somerset. We are proud to be an Independent practice with a team of 11 Vets and 9 qualified nurses.
We have seen rapid growth over the last few years and we are now looking to recruit three Registered Veterinary Nurses to work nights, to support our growing practice.
This is a new venture for the practice, so we are looking for individuals who have a desire to make this role their own. Shift patterns will be 5 nights on, 10 nights off on a rota basis to include weekends and Bank holidays.
There will also be the opportunity to pick up a couple of day shifts on your nights off if you wish to do so. For the right candidate we can offer flexibility on shift patterns. We are looking for individuals who are competent in all aspects of veterinary nursing and be confident in their own abilities, as the majority of work will be sole charge. The role will suit someone who is passionate about inpatient care, with an interest in emergency and critical care, however this is not essential.
The night nurse will be responsible for patient care, and triaging calls during the night, with the support of the duty vet when required. Alongside caring for inpatients, the role will include other duties such as; preparing kits and equipment for the next day, cleaning and administration. This role will be based at our Shepton Mallet practice.
For more information regarding this role, or for an informal chat, please contact either of our Head Nurses Georgina Vernoum or Faye Dart.
