Sustainability

Shepton & Wells Vets is committed to providing high-quality veterinary care while minimising our environmental impact. We recognise our responsibility to reduce our carbon footprint, use resources responsibly, and promote sustainability in all aspects of our operations.

Our goal is to create a practice that supports animal health, staff wellbeing, and a thriving natural environment.
We have already undertaken the following measures to improve our sustainability:
  1. Solar panels
  2. Wild-flower planting
  3. Recycling – including plastics/paper from syringe wrappers etc.
  4. Reclamation of silver from old x-ray films.
  5. Paper bags for medicine dispensing.
  6. Encouraging shared travel if people are attending CPD together or public transport use.
  7. Piped gas and oxygen generators – reduced deliveries of anaesthetic gases and co2 emissions.
  8. Use of circle anaesthetic circuits to reduce flow rates.
  9. Introduction of Humphrey aide anaesthetic circuits to take place – reduce isoflurane use.
