19th-20th August Foot Trimming Course
This Foot First Aid course is a LANTRA-approved course. Delegates will need to pass an assessment to receive their certificate.
This course will run across two days, allowing more time to practise using cadaver limbs.
In this training course, we will cover the following topics:
- Overview of anatomy of the foot
- Main lesions causing lameness
- Detecting lameness: mobility scoring
- Tool kit requirements
- Maintenance of foot trimming equipment
- Introduction to the five-step method
- Treatment protocols
- Guide to applying blocks
- Common blocking mistakes

Prerequisites:
Delegates must be 16 or over to attend this course. We limit places to 6 on this course. Booking early is recommended
To bring:
A clean pair of wellies, waterproof trousers, and a parlour top.



Is lunch included?
Yes. Please contact the farm office if you have any special dietary requirements.
Cost/Fees:
£450 + VAT per person A £50/per person deposit will be payable upon booking.

Cancellation policies:
Cancellations up to 10 working days before the course will result in a full refund. Please contact the office if you need to cancel. Further details are outlined in the booking form. Shepton Vets reserve the right to cancel a course if the minimum delegates number is not reached.
